What we carry

Alcohol and excise goods

Alcohol transport between Poland and the UK with excise handling: Scotch whisky imports, craft beer and wine, EMCS and e-AD, SENT filings where required.

We carry alcohol between Poland and the United Kingdom in both directions: whisky and premium spirits from Scotland to Poland, and Polish beer, wine and spirits to the UK. Movements run under excise duty suspension with an e-AD document in the EMCS system, and for goods on the Polish monitoring list we register SENT declarations.

What exactly we carry

  • Scotch whisky imported into Poland, including limited and collectors' editions
  • premium spirits that need a documented chain of carriage
  • craft beer, wine, gin and other spirits exported to the UK
  • excise goods under duty suspension (EMCS, e-AD)
  • casks and kegs, including empty whisky casks returning for reuse
  • production components: bottles, caps and labels for producers

How we carry and secure it

Alcohol is a theft-sensitive commodity, so pallets travel wrapped, with tamper-evident tape, in trailers with reinforced curtains and a sealed closure. EN 12195 lashing with separators protects the glass. For high-value consignments we arrange additional CARGO insurance on top of the EUR 1,000,000 carrier liability policy.

Documents and procedures

Excise goods under duty suspension travel with an electronic e-AD in the EMCS system, between authorised operators (tax warehouse, registered consignee). We track the ARC numbers along the whole route and close the movement with a report of receipt. For spirits imported into Poland, Polish fiscal excise marks apply under Polish law. SENT declarations on PUESC concern goods on the statutory carriage-monitoring list, for example completely denatured alcohol; bottled whisky is not covered by that system. In the UK, alcohol duty rates changed in February 2026. Current as of August 2026; official sources below.

Milton Keynes warehouse for this group

In Milton Keynes we consolidate batches from several suppliers, for example whisky from different distilleries before a single transport to Poland. We run quantity checks, a photo report of each batch and secure storage until the truck is complete.

Importing whisky from Scotland step by step

First we confirm the excise status of both parties: whether the Polish consignee runs a tax warehouse or holds registered consignee status. Then we book collection from the distillery or warehouse in Scotland, the supplier opens the e-AD in EMCS, and we track the ARC number and deadlines along the whole route. After delivery the consignee files the report of receipt and the movement is closed. When a batch needs Polish fiscal marks, banderoling follows the procedure agreed with the consignee.

Exporting Polish alcohol to the UK

We serve craft breweries and producers shipping to the United Kingdom from one pallet: carriage under duty suspension to a UK warehouse or duty-paid, depending on the consignee's model. We help line up the documents so the alcohol duty rates and volumes on the invoices match the import entry.

Frequently asked questions

Will you bring whisky from Scotland to Poland?
Yes, importing whisky from Scotland is one of our specialties. We arrange collection from the distillery or warehouse, carriage under duty suspension with an e-AD in EMCS, customs clearance and delivery to a tax warehouse or registered consignee in Poland.
Does alcohol transport require a SENT declaration?
It depends on the goods. SENT covers items on the Polish statutory monitoring list, for example completely denatured alcohol; bottled whisky and wine are not covered. We check the list for the specific product and register the declaration on PUESC when required. Current as of August 2026.
How does carriage of alcohol under duty suspension work?
The goods travel between authorised operators with an electronic e-AD in the EMCS system, without paying excise duty during carriage. We track the ARC number along the whole route, and the movement is closed by a report of receipt filed after delivery.
Will you carry used whisky casks to Poland?
Yes, empty whisky casks are a regular return load: they travel on pallets or in cradles, secured with lashings. They are not duty-suspended goods, so the carriage is simpler than with full bottles, and our team prepares the customs entry.
