EORI number for trade with the United Kingdom

What the EORI number is, who issues it in Poland and why a separate UK GB EORI number is needed for GB clearances.

EORI is an economic operator registration and identification number used in customs operations. In the EU an operator has one EORI, and in Poland it is issued by the National Revenue Administration (KAS) through PUESC. For GB import clearances a separate UK GB EORI number is needed, starting with GB. Without an EORI you cannot lodge a customs declaration.
