Express LTL combines your consignment with others on a fixed, fast departure, so you share the cost and pay for the space used. A dedicated van carries only your goods directly, without transhipment, but usually costs more. The choice depends on urgency, cargo sensitivity and the transhipment risk you accept.
When to choose which
- Express LTL: a few pallets, cost over full directness, you accept consolidation.
- Dedicated van: critical deadline, sensitive cargo, zero transhipments, a single delivery address.
- Transhipment risk: higher with LTL, minimal with a van.
- Time: a van is usually faster door-to-door; LTL is predictable thanks to fixed departures.
