How to get an ATA carnet in Poland

Who issues the ATA carnet in Poland, which documents it requires and what the security and fee involve.

In Poland the ATA carnet is issued by the Polish Chamber of Commerce (Krajowa Izba Gospodarcza, KIG). To obtain it you submit an application with a general list of goods covering descriptions, values and weights, lodge a security (deposit) against possible customs charges and pay an issuing fee. The amount depends on the value and type of goods.

What to prepare

  • An application to KIG as the issuing body.
  • A general list of goods with description, value and weight.
  • A security for the charges (a deposit or another form).
  • The carnet issuing fee.
General list is the standardised list of goods carried, the same at every border, to which the carnet vouchers refer.

This is general information, not legal advice; KIG confirms the details. At OPTIMUS TRANSPORT we plan the haul around a ready carnet. See exhibition logistics and services.
