The ATA Carnet is an international customs document for temporary export of goods free of duty and VAT — ideal for trade-fair exhibits, stand equipment and samples carried to UK shows and back. In Poland it is issued by the Polish Chamber of Commerce (KIG), and customs detach the relevant voucher at each border crossing.
Step by step
- Who it is for — exhibitors, exhibits, equipment returned in the same state (no sale).
- Obtaining it — application to KIG with a detailed goods list, value and security.
- Export — clearance on the export voucher, transit voucher on entry to GB.
- Return — re-importation voucher; goods must return complete and within the carnet validity (up to 1 year).
- Discharge — return the carnet to KIG; no shortfalls means no duty or VAT.
At OPTIMUS TRANSPORT we carry trade-fair exhibits to the UK with ATA Carnet handling. See exhibitions and customs clearance.
