Transport of clothing and textiles to the United Kingdom is our bread and butter. Apparel falls under HS chapters 61 (knitted) and 62 (woven). What matters is a specific goods description in the ENS safety declaration, since plain "clothing" is not enough, along with proper labels, wrapping and the right carriage format plus post-Brexit clearance.
What we watch
- A specific goods description in ENS, e.g. the type of garment, not generic "clothing".
- Labels and wrapping that protect goods in transit.
- Carriage as hanging garments or in cartons.
- Post-Brexit clearance with a GMR and ENS as part of the haul.
HS 61 and 62 are the nomenclature chapters covering apparel: 61 knitted, 62 woven.
