If stowaways were in the trailer, the cargo must be treated as potentially tampered and sent for inspection before any further distribution. OPTIMUS TRANSPORT checks the state of the goods, assesses fitness for sale or consumption, performs a repack and prepares photo documentation for the client and the insurer.
What to do
- Secure the trailer and do not start distribution.
- Send the goods for inspection and a fitness assessment.
- Repack and rebuild pallets if needed.
- Produce a photo report for the claim.
Tampered cargo is goods whose integrity may have been compromised by access of unauthorised people.
