Transport to Ireland via the UK land bridge and T2

How we carry goods to the Republic of Ireland: why it is intra-EU carriage and how T2 transit through Great Britain works.

The Republic of Ireland is an EU member state, so Poland–Ireland carriage is intra-EU transport, with no customs clearance between EU states. When the route runs through Great Britain (a third country), we use transit and proof of Union status: a T2 declaration or a T2L/T2LF status confirmation. A direct ferry from the continent, bypassing GB, is also possible.

Two routes to Ireland

  • Land bridge via GB - transit through Great Britain with a T2 declaration or proof of Union status (T2L/T2LF).
  • Direct ferry - from continental ports straight to Ireland, with no entry into GB.
  • The choice depends on time, cost and the nature of the cargo.
T2 is the EU transit procedure that lets Union goods move through a third country (GB) while keeping their status, with no duty paid in transit.

We match the route to your cargo. See destinations and customs clearance. General information, not legal advice.
